Lemontowner Rachel Uwa is looking for speculative fiction pieces for her project, Strange Fiction aus Berlin. See details below and apply!
Deadline – now extended: January 2, 2012
Announcing the Strange Fiction aus Berlin anthology Vol. 1
Think: fiction with a twist! Sci-fi, anthropomorphism, existentialism, absurdity, odd, comedic styles of writing all welcome! Writers should be based in or formerly based in Berlin, Germany.
The details:
Publication Date: 1st March 2012 (approximately)
Publication format: ipad App
Word Length: Short fiction 2000 to 2500 words max.
Guidelines: Seeking short works of speculative fiction which present ideas of things that are perhaps not quite what they seem. Satire, irony, and parody as thought-provoking, fun entertainment! (think George Saunders-esque!) As stated, authors should be based in or formerly based in Berlin. Stories themselves do not need to be set in Berlin necessarily, but feel free. The book will be released as an ipad app and as such there will be the option of adding limited amounts of sound and animation to enhance the authors’ vision. Voice-over readings may perhaps also be included.
Rules: No reprints. Original, unpublished fiction only. No simultaneous submissions.
Payment: No advance. Shared royalties on sales. (8-10 authors will share 40% of royalties)
Rights: First rights, electronic.
Submission: .doc or .rtf files only please. Deadline for submission: 19th December 2011 Email submissions (in English) and/or questions to submissions@mrpinkandthepinks.
