Munich is also getting its ass kicked!

Recently I found out about a group in Munich similar to Lemontown.

The Munich Creative Group, headed by photographer Christine Becksted and artist Julie Galante, began a subgroup six months ago to help hold each other accountable for their stated creative goals. Christine contacted me a few days ago to say that they liked our name and to ask how we would feel about having the name Kick in Ass Club used in Munich.

So, creatives in Munich at these twice-monthly breakfast meetings will now be attending Kick in the Ass Club – Munich! This sister group is working towards hosting a public exhibition of member works as well as holding frequent public salon-style events that allow members to come and discuss/showcase their work. Go Munich.

Calling all playfulness…

Last Wednesday we met Leen and learned about her work at galerie Open.

You’ll want to head over there next week for this event:

PLAYTIME’S OVER
August 30 – August 31, 2011
Opens Tuesday, August 30, 3:00 PM – 2:00 AM

Bianca Jane, Playtime’s over, 2011, Galerie Open

We are planning an afternoon and night of artistic experiments to end the Summer Break Project 2011 exhibition, ‘Objective of Play’, at galerie OPEN by Alexandra Rockelmann. The exhibition is an insight into the diversity of imagination and an exploration of the idea that the process of making art is a form of play.

We want to bring together a curation of playful, experimental, interactive, performative, artistic antics and happenings. It will take place at galerie OPEN by Alexandra Rockelmann on the 30. August from 15.00 until midnight (and then a party).

Are you interested in showing a performance art piece / screening a video / dancing / poetry reading / playing an interactive game with guests / creating a ‘happening’ / doing an ‘action’, testing out new ideas … etc etc … then contact us NOW at summer-break@galerie-open.net. Please give us a brief of your proposal and a little bit about yourselves.

We’re excited and look forward to the final creative playtime!

Bitte schreibt uns an summer-break@galerie-open.net.

Wir sind gespannt und freuen uns!

Short story published in Triangulation: Last Contact

At a KITAC meeting back in Winter, I read my short story Zafir, The Saudi Superhero, which has just been published in Triangulation: Last Contact, the science fiction, fantasy, and horror anthology series produced by PARSEC Ink, featuring 28 short stories from great writers including Hugo and Nebula award winner Robert J. Sawyer.
